Early Life and Education

Born in New Delhi, Jain was raised in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, and educated at the Elizabeth Morrow School and Horace Mann School in New York City. She earned her undergraduate degree from Columbia University in New York.

While in college, she interned at the Higher Education Knowledge and Technology Exchange (HEKATE), a Washington, D.C.–based nonprofit think tank dedicated to innovation in higher education. HEKATE brought together leaders from institutions including MIT, the University of Michigan, Gartner, and Oracle, and focused on collaborative strategies for campus-wide IT planning, digital transformation, and shared technology adoption.

Her time at HEKATE provided early exposure to institutional innovation and laid the groundwork for her future work at the intersection of education and technology.

Anjli’s Career

In 2003, Jain played a leading role in establishing the Campus Consortium, a nonprofit collaborative supported by universities including the University of Nevada, Las Vegas; Oklahoma State University; Kansas State University; University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; Virginia Commonwealth University; Washington State University; Rochester Institute of Technology; and University of Montana. While at Campus Consortium, Jain led efforts to help educational institutions build and share scalable, enterprise-grade IT infrastructure, student portals, and digital services.

During her tenure, the organization awarded millions of dollars in grants to colleges and universities to support adoption of cloud computing, cybersecurity platforms, and AI-driven technologies—particularly for institutions lacking the funding or capacity to modernize their IT ecosystems independently.

In 2014, Jain launched ElevenX Capital, where she leads investment strategy and operational growth for early-stage companies. She has chaired the boards of several portfolio companies, including:

  • Unifyed – an AI‑powered student information system
  • QuickLaunch – an AI-enabled identity, access management, and integration platform
  • BlackBeltHelp – an AI helpdesk platform used across higher education institutions
  • EXC Managed Services – a platform streamlining IT, HR, finance, and compliance operations

Her investment portfolio includes multiple successful exits:

  • MilkBasket – a hyperlocal e‑commerce platform, acquired by Reliance Industries
  • OculusIT – a managed security services provider (MSSP), acquired by Avathon Capital in 2025

Jain also leads IMADE (Innovation in Mobile App Development Ecosystem), a national initiative with India’s Department of Telecommunications, empowering students to develop mobile-first solutions to real-world problems.

Philanthropy

Jain is a long-standing advocate for educational equity and innovation. She is a benefactor of two 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations:

  • Ivy Education  Foundation, which provides early education in entrepreneurship, coding, and artificial intelligence, preparing students for the future of work.
  • Campus Consortium Foundation, which builds ventures focused on learning infrastructure, AI for education, digital trust, and student-led innovation.

She also contributes to initiatives focused on mentorship for women in technology and the democratization of learning platforms globally. Jain has been involved with 1871, a Chicago-based startup incubator, where she supports early-stage founders—particularly women and minority entrepreneurs—through mentorship and strategic programming.

In addition, she is an active member of the Columbia Venture Community (CVC), a global network of Columbia University alumni working to foster innovation and support emerging founders across sectors.

Awards and Recognition

In 2011, Jain was named one of the Top 25 Under 35 Movers & Shakers in Northeast Ohio by the Cleveland Professional 20/30 Club.

She has served on the Board of Directors of the YWCA of Greater Cleveland and is a frequent contributor to leadership forums focused on equity, digital transformation, and education policy.
